I've watched this about 30 times because I'm not sure that we will ever get this little monster to laugh like this again. And yes, he's turning into a busy little monster.
Blackberry's have awful video capability but at least we captured the sound.
Hi I'm Nat this here's my blog. When I'm not wrestling my three drama queens or kissing on my baby boy, I enjoy all things outdoors, photographing my life, writing on occasion and some things creative. In the end, I hope to look back and find something I did right and maybe this will be my proof.
Dec. 18, 2011 Ava just came in and said, "I'm getting a lottery ticket." (She's trying to come up with ways to earn money to go to Chicago to the American Girl Doll store). I said, "Oh you are?" She responded, "Yea, cause I have a feeling I'm going to win. I'll just pray about it then I can pay all your bills."
Dec. 18, 2011 Ava came upstairs wearing a white fitted shirt that is becoming more and more fitted (and one Jake hates that she wears). Upon seeing her, I said, "Well, it looks like you won't be wearing that shirt much longer." Jake continued, "Yea it looks like it's time to give it to Ellie." Ava responded, "Dad, I'm pretty sure I'm going to be wearing a lot less mormonized clothes before I'm 16!"
Oct. 29, 2011 Ava was asking me what kind of car she should get when she starts driving (I guess it takes 8 years of preparing). I told he she would drive the Outback. She looked at me and said, "I'll just have Grammie buy me the car I want."
Oct 23, 2011 Maggie came in and said, "I wish I was you." When I asked her why, she quickly responded, "because then I could be the boss."
Sept. 2011 The girls have been playing endlessly in my closet and I wasn't sure what to think when one by one they began pointing out items asking, "Can I have this when you die?"
April 21, 2011 I asked Maggie if she wanted the baby to be a boy or a girl and she instantly responded, "Girl!" Then I asked her if it was a boy if she would still like it and if she would be nice to him. She looked at me in all seriousness and said, "Boy babies eat all the cookies."
Feb 17, 2011 Ellie came in bawling explaining that Maggie had hurt her ear. After getting both girls together and convincing Maggie to apologize and give her a hug, Maggie began to plead her case and said, "But sometimes Ellie is mean and sometimes Ava is mean and there are two girls that are mean to one girl......Maggie Eliza Lundquist."
Feb. 16, 2011 Maggie was playing with her horses and I overheard her say, "Thunder, Thunder! Don't even do that or I will have to skin you alive!"
Sept. 2, 2010 While looking at the children's Bible and the story of Adam and Eve, Ellie asked, "In the Garden of Eden are people poor and have no clothes?"
May 16, 2010 Maggie loves picking dandelions and then bringing them to me and shouting, "Happy Mother's Day" with her big cheesy grin. She's also been doing the same thing for Jake. When Jake tried to explain that he is her father and not her mother, she responded, "Happy Mother's Day.....Father."
April 29, 2010 Today was my birthday and over breakfast, the girls were discussing my age. Ava said with a bit of disgust, "Mom, you're 33! You're getting so old." Then Ellie came over to me with intense panic in her eyes and asked, "Are you going to die?"
Sept. 15, 2009 Ellie to mom, "Mom, when I'm 5 can I wear Ava's clothes?" "Yes," I reply. She begins hooting and hollering then pauses. "When I'm 101 can I wear your stuff?"
June 26, 2009 I sent Ellie to her room for a time out and Maggie quickly came to her rescue. She stuck her head in the kitchen, ejected her tongue and spit then said, "Don't like you mama!" and marched into the room after Ellie. Halfway there, she stopped, turned around and repeated herself again, "Don't like you mama!" And she's not even 2!
June 9, 2009 Ava while driving in the car, "OUCH, OWE, Oooouch!" "What's wrong?" I ask. "My heart hurts! **pause** I think it's Jesus telling me that the church is true.....cuz...I wasn't sure if it was so I prayed. Yeah, that's it - it's Jesus telling me."
April 19, 2009 I asked the girls if they knew why Jesus was on the cross and Ava quickly replied, "Yeah, because His apostle kissed him and then the Lamanites took him away."
April 14, 2009 After sneaking a bite of Maggie's oatmeal for breakfast, she looked up at me and said, "HEY! eeker! (stinker).
April 8, 2009 Ellie says, "Mom, guess how come I like your tub so much? Because it's glued onto your room."
March 15, 2009 During church today, Ava leaned over and asked, "Mom, is today slow Sunday?" "No," I replied, a little confused, She then asked, "Well, is it Fast Sunday then?" I chuckled... She continued, "Is it Fast Sunday or Slow Sunday?"
March 7, 2009 Ava and Jake are looking at pictures from Maggie's birth and Jake asks her if she wants mom to have another baby. Ava responds, "Yeah, let's get her on the pill." "What pill?" She says, "You know the pill that makes you get preg-a-nant."
March 6th, 2009 As I'm opening my internet browser, Ava walks in and upon seeing the computer screen says, "Will you please maximize?" Then she quickly reaches for the mouse and with one click opens the browser to full screen.
March 5th, 2009 Ellie enjoyed a morning jumping on our bed and in complete exhaustion flopped on her back while panting like a dog. She looked up and said, "Dad, my heart in beeping." Dad says, "Really?" She responds, "Yeah, it's going Kur-plunk, Kur-plunk."
March 4th, 2009 The girls are always begging me to tell them stories about life when I was a little girl. One of their favorites lately is when I got stitches at age 2. After explaining that visit to the doctor, I told them that instead of going to church that day, I got to stay home and eat Popsicles (which is really all I remember), Ava responds, "Yeah cuz treats are much better than church."
March 2nd, 2009 Ava told Jake and I that she informed her teacher that her mom doesn't like President Obama. After explaining that I just don't agree with some of his policies she says, "Yeah, you just wanted David O. McKay to win."
Feb. 24th, 2009 In talking to Ellie, Jake is telling her that she has beautiful eyes, a beautiful smile, beautiful hair, beautiful ears and the list goes on. When he has run out of things to say, her eyes perk up and she questions, "What about my earings?"
Feb. 22, 2009 After showing the girls pictures from our Mexico trip, Ava says, "Oh mom, these pictures are just breaking my heart."
Feb. 15, 2009 While in Mexico, our friends Cori and Eric came to stay with the girls. Cori's mother was in town and after dinner she was reading stories and Ellie kept staring at her face. Finally, Ellie asked, "What's all over your face?"
C's mom: It's make-up
E: Why do you have that on?
C's mom: I put it on to make me look prettier and younger.
E: (pause) It's not working!
Feb. 6, 2009 Ava's response to me not doing what she wants, "Mom, you're following Satan when you do that."
On that same day after being reprimanded for tormenting her sisters, she claims, "Satan made me do that!"
Dec. 13, 2008 Ava to mom upset, of course, "In your next life, I'm going to tell Santa not to bring you any presents."
Dec. 7, 2008 Ava is begging to bear her testimony in church today and when asked what she would say, she rattled off the typical child's testimony then paused and asked, "Or should I just bust into a song?"
Dec. 4, 2008 Ellie says, "Mom, will you take up my sweater, it's hotting me."
Nov. 25, 2008 Conversation between Ava and Grammy: Ava asks why the dog Hugger is Aliyah's do and Grammy explains that she thought if she got the dog on Aliyah's birthday but kept it at her house then Grandpa wouldn't get mad. Only Grandpa did get mad and in fact, didn't speak to her for 10 days. Ava responds, "Yeah, it's kinda nice to not have to talk to your husbands for a while."
Nov. 4, 2008 As we're driving in the car, Ellie says to Ava looking in the sky, "Look! The clouds are moving. Jesus is pushing them."
