I love this time of year because so many open hearts reach out to others that are hurting and in need. Giving is one of my favorite things about Christmas and I'm trying hard to teach my girls that it's far more rewarding to give than to receive.
Some dear friends of my two brothers are experiencing a sudden and terrible loss. Jared passed away unexpectedly and with no explanation in his sleep on November 30th. Today, his 8 month pregnant wife and 17 month old little girl will say goodbye to "daddy" and face this holiday season without him. My heart breaks for them, for his parents and siblings and for all those who will look for ways to fill a gaping hole in their heart.
Help them if you can as lots of people in little ways brings miracles from heaven. Most importantly, I hope this Christmas season will be more about giving of ourselves in whatever ways we can and celebrating true giver of life and love, our Savior Jesus Christ.
